What is Menopause ?

Menopause is a natural transition in a woman’s biological cycle, when the ovaries decline in function and produce lower amounts of estrogen and progesterone, gradually marking the culmination of her reproductive phase. It starts between the ages of 45 and 55 years with changes in menstrual cycle, along with wide variety of symptoms- like hot flushes, brain fog, fatigue and more.

Perimenopause refers to the period from when these signs are first observed and ends one year after the final menstrual period and may affect women in physical, mental, social and emotional health.

Post menopause refers to the time after you’ve been without a menstrual period for 12 months and continues into the rest of your life. During this stage, menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes, may fade away. However, women may be at an increased risk for osteoporosis and heart disease.

If you are over 40 years and experiencing any of the symptoms along with changes in periods, take our self-test and find out more.
