Hormone replacement therapy is the most popular therapy used amongst women going through menopause and perimenopause. It is effective in managing symptoms, however, with the recent rise in awareness and research, there are a few risks involved hence many women opt for home remedies or other holistic ways to ease their symptoms.

Although most of these remedies are backed by research which I will share with you here, it is always advisable to consult your doctor or healthcare provider before you turn to or switch to these options.

Diet -

It is prevalent among women to notice that certain foods or eating habits may trigger a certain symptom hence since diet greatly affects menopause symptoms. Research shows that a spike in blood sugar can cause weight gain and sleeping disorders. Surveys suggest that stimulants like coffee can trigger hot flashes and night sweats hence it is important to regulate your diet and have as least triggers as possible to lead to a hot flash

Exercise -

Exercising can stabilize the blood sugar levels hence it boosts energy and mental health. It not only helps in weight management by boosting metabolism but it also may reduce hot flashes. Meditation may also improve and reduce the recurrence of hot flashes.

Dietary Supplements -

Dietary supplements greatly affect the symptoms of menopause. Folic Acid may help in reducing the length and severity of hot flashes while Vitamin D helps in maintaining a healthy bone structure and lowers the risk of osteoporosis.

Try the Vitabalans FerroFol - C to get optimum Folic Acid and Vitabalans DMax 4000 IU to help with reducing the risk of osteoporosis.

Herbal Supplements -

Some herbal supplements help manage perimenopause and menopause symptoms like Black Cohosh, Maca, and Red Clover to name a few. Black Cohosh may help with reducing hot flashes and works to balance the hormones. Valerian roots are also helpful herbal supplements to induce sleep which is effective in the treatment of insomnia.

Remifemin contains both Black Cohosh and Valerian Root making it a holistic herbal supplement for menopause.

Maca Root also helps in balancing hormones and has been used for centuries as a natural treatment for improving sexual functions during menopause.

Kiva Super Foods Maca Powder contains organic Maca Root which may be beneficial during menopause.
