Goodbye ’22- Welcome ‘23

Hello readers, Season’s greetings!

It is that time of the year when we are preparing for goodbyes to the past year and getting ready to welcome the new. Lots of celebrations bring in lots of end-of-season sales and hypnotize us into a frenzy of mindless shopping sprees. I have been guilty time and again. One thing that makes me realize my folly is my wardrobe, which would not allow me any more space for new stuff that I end up buying. I would have to either buy a new wardrobe, for which I may need to shift into a bigger apartment, or to afford that I may need to relocate. Oh, stop overthinking. Let me be honest here, I need to discard a few old things to make space for anything new.

Discarding old stuff is like saying goodbyes to precious possessions, which is very difficult. How do you empty old stuff? The space is filled with occasions, celebrations, and good old cherished memories. It could be the sports shoes I wore for my 1st marathon, or the saree I donned at my sister’s wedding. How about that formal dress I wore at my 1st international conference as a speaker and that little black dress worn on my special date night? They are attached to moments of pride, happiness, achievements, and love. How do you say goodbye to these souvenirs?

But if you really want to make space for a new phase in life, you need to move on from the old. The year's end is a good time to cherish those memories, pay our gratitude and say goodbyes.

Since the change of decade, all we saw was chaos, suffering, panic, and anxiety about the unseen- the pandemic. We all suffered it in 2020, came to terms with it in 2021, and stabilized ourselves in 2022. So clearly 2023 is going to be the time for our triumph, exactly like Menopause or the renaissance. You suffer the symptoms, come to terms and stabilize as you take control of your lifestyle and become a winner.

December, the last phase of the year has the clarity, simplicity, and silence you need for a fresh start. So, list out things we need to be thankful for and make way for new changes and challenges.

  • Thank your body who stood by you in all changes from your girly days to womanhood- may be a chance at motherhood or not.

  • Thank your hormones- oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin- they all make you happy

  • Thank your beautiful mind which makes you the “UNIQUE YOU”

  • Thank your family and friends who stood by you in all the ups and downs you went through your life- especially in menopause.

  • Do not forget to buy your new gratitude journal for the new year.

And if you still have a little room for shopping more, then my suggestion would be to visit FITAMINAT and pick these amazing gifts
