With Menopause comes realization, the realization the marks the end of one’s childbearing years. That can bring a lot of bittersweet emotions and can be very painful for a few also. Menopausal mood swings have a direct connection with lowering estrogen levels. So here are a few widespread aspects of menopause mood swings that we all dread!

1. Irritability

Up to 70% of women describe irritability as their main emotional problem during the early stages of the menopausal transition. At this stage, they are more annoyed and more sensitive towards things that didn’t matter much before.

2. Depression

Depression is a more common and serious emotional side effect of menopause. It affects up to 1 out of every 5 women as they progress through menopause

3. Anxiety

Many women experience tension, nervousness, worry, and panic attacks during menopause. Some may find their anxiety getting worse while others may find themselves in this situation for the first time.

4. Crying episodes and feeling weepy

This tendency can become more pronounced in menopausal women, crying over trivial matters becomes more prevalent. However, tears can reduce stress as they allow people to release pent-up feelings.

5. Insomnia

Insomnia can contribute to mood swings, as it interferes with day-to-day functioning. It is common during menopause, affecting 40 – 50 percent of women.

Many women to cope with these unexpected emotions try to ‘self–medicate’ themselves with unhealthy lifestyle choices, however, making such a decision will only make the situation worst for them health-wise. Remifemin is a natural medicine that can help you ease menopausal mood swings and the other aspects associated with menopause. Try using natural alternatives which are the best as opposed to any other harsh medication that might have an adverse effect. Always remember that nothing is more important than ‘You’ during Menopause.
